Nightwing

Nightwing is character from DCComics, he is one of my childhood heroes and someone I always admired. I dreamed about being as cool as he is and I always dreamed of cosplaying him, so happy I finally got around to it! I did my own interpretation of his design by adding in things I personally wanted, some shoulder armor, gauntlets, etc.

The Process

I actually got sent a base suit for this from EZCosplay! I won a contest from them and so they sent me this for free, so I decided to spice it up a little. All the armor is made from foam and some worbla, I also wired in some LEDs to the whole thing! I wanted to respect his design while also adding in my own personal elements to the cosplay to make it distinct as my own.

The Memories

​I wore Nightwing to Sabakon, Spa-Con and a convention in Mexico!! I love wearing him so much and will continue to do so for years probably ahaha. The most distinct memory I have from wearing this cosplay was after judging a group of cosplayers, I gave my judges award to small boy dressed as Deku, he didn't speak English and I didn't speak Spanish but he asked for a hug with his body language and I gladly did, he gave me a hug for a good few minutes and it was the sweetest thing. I hope he continues to cosplay.
